A Russian Library Has Opened in the Center of Istanbul

Dear friends, we’re excited to share some wonderful news!

For everyone who speaks, reads, or is just beginning to learn Russian — a new Russian-language section has opened right in the heart of Istanbul, on Taksim Square, at the Sevgi Soysal Library.

This cozy and bright space offers a collection of over 1,550 books in Russian — from timeless classics to contemporary literature. The collection was made possible thanks to generous donors, the support of the Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of Russia Abroad, and the Consulate General of Russia in Istanbul.

Everyone is welcome here:

  • our compatriots,
  • Russian language learners,
  • and simply anyone who loves good books.

You can stop by, pick up a book that speaks to you, read in peace, or simply enjoy a touch of your native language far from home.

Address:

Sevgi Soysal Library and Cultural Center (5th floor)

Drop by — who knows, maybe the book that inspires your next adventure is waiting for you right there.
